This aparment is a typical Chicago condo built in the 2000 era. It did not requite any modification of the bones, but rather my client and I decided to refresh finishes instead of a full regut, this in an effort to reduce waste. For example we kept the wood paneling present all across the apartment even if we did not love it. We could not justify the waste of wood so we painted it. We kept the kitchen but replaced the countertops with a very strong slab made with recycled materials (Dekton surface). The paint across the apartment is by Farrow and Ball.

I designed a breakfast nook at the heart of the apartment where not natural light comes in. I told my client that if there is no feature such as a naturall light, a view etc we have to work harder on the design to create something more special. The millwork was made by Piotr Maslej.

The powder room and primary bathroom were fully renovated. The primary bathroom features custom made millwok by Piotr Maslej and Fireclay handmade tile. The powder room features custom millwork by Piotr Maslej and Heath Ceramics handmade tile.
